Mayan Riviera!
I got back last week and have been living back in the real world. Sigh. I seriously think I could most definitely move to somewhere HOT that never ever gets snow. Maybe one day :) We had an awesome time!! We went down with my parents and stayed with them for 2 weeks.
While there we took the kids to 2 places. One was XelHa A great place to go for family snorkeling. My little 3 year old daughter Kiella learnt how to snorkel while we were there and was doing it all on her own. I WISH I had my camera for that. She amazed me! Another place we went, that the kids really, really loved was Xcaret. So much to see! Like it says in the brochure, there just isn't enough time (with kids at least) to see it all in one day. We will for sure be going back there one day.
The first week we stayed at the amazing Grand Mayan. What a gorgeous place! The pools are amazing, biggest I've ever seen. Lots of restaurants with very, very good food!! Tons of entertainment as well.
The 2nd week we stayed at the Sunset Fisherman Resort. This one was smaller and more private. The kids didn't like this one as much after being at the first one. Not as much to do I guess. The nice this was that this one is right in Playa del Carmen. We could walk (about 15-20 min) with the kids to 5th Ave and go shopping.
Then, our flights didn't work out with our resort dates so we had to find a hotel for the last night there. Not fun after staying in luxurious places for that past 2 weeks lol. We finally found a place that was willing to let us stay for only one night in Puerto Morelos. (closer to Cancun than Playa del Carmen) The little hotel was called the Ojo de Agua. The pictures on the site do this place justice lol. Not quite what we were expecting. Oh well, we had to make the best of it....and you know what, I'm soooooo glad we went there!! My Dad, my Husband and I all decided that we were gonna try snorkeling in the ocean. There was a reef far out the kept all the big waves from shore so we thought it'd be worth a try. It was amazing! On top of all the little colorful fish, we were swimming with barracuda's and saw a very cool HUGE spotted eagle ray!!! Then, some lady had told us what the name of the hotel meant. I knew agua meant water, and found out that Ojo means eye, so eye of the water. She said someone told her that right in front of our resort there was supposedly a cenote shaped like an eye on the bottom of the ocean floor but she had never seen it. So we went out again and amazingly enough we found it!!! Now, just to learn how to scuba and if I ever do I'll most definitely be buying an underwater housing for my camera! I wish I could share with you all what I saw. Well I can at least share some of our vacation pics that were above the water. Enjoy :)
Middle of the night airport check in. My poor son couldn't wake up lol, so there he slept against a pole :)

Soaking up the sun.

♥♥♥I think this one will be going on canvas!

LOVE how the leave the trees in the middle of the street lol.

These (below) were all taken in Xcaret.
